How Can We Help?
How to Set a Course (for Students)
Your teacher, tutor, or parent can set up a Course on Blutick to plan which topics to tackle; weeks or even months in advance. You can even independently set up a Course yourself!
How do I see my Courses?
To see which is your current Course, go to Your Course using the sidebar menu.
Here you can see which Course you are on, and who set it for you. You can also see which topics you have completed, and which are remaining – just click the “complete topic” button to get started!
Your Home page may also show you the next topic in your course, with the “Your Next Topic” button. Note that this button won’t show if you have set tasks still to complete.
How do I set up a Course myself?
Use the sidebar menu to go to Create a Course.
Decide on a name for your Course, then select an appropriate one for you from our suggested templates. All of our templates are named using the UK year grouping system.
Choose “Blank Template” if you want to create a brand-new Course from scratch.
Now click the green “Create Course” button.
Use the toggles to switch the course to “live”. This will allow you to tackle the topics in your own time. If you want to set the topics to a particular time frame, toggle the Schedule to “on” and set appropriate dates.
Drag the blue boxes to reorder topics. Use the + buttons to add extra topics or add gaps, eg. for holidays or school trips.
If you use the search function to add new topics, you will see that topics not yet part of your Course are highlighted in bold.
Now click the green “Update Course” button at the bottom of the page.
Congratulations! You are now on a Course, and the suggested topics on your Home page will come from your Course (unless your teacher, tutor, or parent sets you a Task).
Can I change my Course?
You can add or remove topics, change the order they appear in, or even change your Course to a different template.
Go to Manage Courses using the sidebar menu and click “edit course”.
Move, add, or remove the topic boxes, just as you did when you created the course.
Once you have arranged the course as you would like, remember to click the green “Update Course” button at the bottom of the page!
